A Paris guide (that I want to gatekeep) part 3: Le Marais
Finally, a guide to this so-called notorious area - with no mention of Le Progrès or Cortado
Apart from being known as the hippy corner of Paris where you walk around hyper-aware of your outfit choices, Le Marais is home to (actually) good bars and restaurants. Hide away from the crowds of fashion influencers now at these spots:
Restaurants:
Casa San Pablo: Spanish tapas with a gorgeous view of the Saint-Paul Saint-Louis church
Fratelli: Cozy Italian restaurant nestled on a leafy street corner.
La Banquette: Classic French corner restaurant buzzing with energy, right in the heart of Le Marais (plus, it’s next to Le Progrès if you still want to pop in).
Fabula: Hot take, but romantic (and pricey *oops* ) dining in the Carnavalet museum garden deserves a spot on your list
Bars:
Bar Nouveau: Ranked among the “World’s 50 Best Bars,” this intimate cocktail bar is tucked away on a quiet street and serves up creative signature drinks ( though they’ll happily make the classics on request )
Le Pick Clops: Watch the world go by with casual drinks and finger-food at this laid-back casual bar
STOLLY’s: Grunge rock ‘n’ roll bar offering affordable pints, cocktails, and wine.
Coffee shops:
Doong Saint Paul: This is a hidden gem I’ve been gatekeeping! Seriously, it’s rare to find a café with such good matcha, so good that my friends and I were literally shaking after
Cafe Abel: Tucked away from the busy streets, enjoy a cozy brunch and great coffee in one of the cutest setting.
FIKA: Swedish food and drinks served on a charming patio inside the Institut Suédois, though it gets insanely packed quickly at lunchtime
Breffff, Le Marais might be overrated but it still holds a special place in my heart! Hope you enjoy this guide !!
Which area in Paris should I write about next? Let me know in the comment!
